Super has undeniably ruined Goku, even in the DBS manga-- It still has the kiss joke, him not knowing what pregnancy is, the goofy ass faces, starting the TOP, etc-- but this subreddit worships Super, putting it on a golden pedestal even above OG Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z. Anything that doesn't fit into the precious 'canon' timeline, led by Dragon Ball Z 's curse word censorship wasn't solely for religious reasons, with examples of swearing also removed. Both the Ginyu Force's Recoome and Babidi the wizard stick their finger up at Goku in frustration, and these moments were naturally removed for the benefit of the Toonami-watching American public.
The Saiyan arc is Dragon Ball at its best, and Volume 20 is a great showcase of the arc’s strongest qualities. 4 Volume 26: Son Goku…. Revived!! The middle chunk of the fight against Freeza— after everyone’s fought as a group but before Goku turns Super Saiyan— is often overlooked.
The manga is better but.. It's not great. Dragon Ball super is a piece of disappointment. At least you'll finish the Manga really faster and move to something better..
